I was browsing Facebook when I saw a post & picture from an FB account of Maldita Daw Ako, dated Dec. 24, 2018, as follows: “Ito ang sitwasyon ng Filipino politics ang funds papunta lagi una sa bulsa bago sa taong bayan kaya hayan hikahos ang mga mamamayan.”

I admire watchful citizens who are on the lookout in the current events of their surroundings. The writer is a good reporter because she is obervant of the things around her. The picture in her post speaks clearly of her message even without the description.

Her post impelled me to share my point of view about Philippine politics as follows:

Happy New Year!

Serve well! Does it describe the works of our government officials and personnel?

Each time we talk about the upcoming May 13, 2019 Election, the witty people asks, “Will the elected candidates in the contested political positions can serve the people with integrity? My thought: “Only when an Administration is effective that people can prosper. And will suffer when we elect/re-elect inefficient candidates.”

What is inefficient? Not achieving maximum productivity; wasting or failing to make the best use of time & resources; incompetent or unfit for the position.

Again may I repeat my hope (in my 68 years of being a Pinoy afficionado in the political “basketball” court) that candidates elected will be inspired to serve the citizenry for the common good, not for profit, honour or private interest of any one. Deficient candidates could “never” manage perfect justice. There will always be a “devil” in the court ready to sell his soul to become prosperous.

I’m thankful for President Duterte’s determination to battle drug abuse/addiction. Lets face it, the past administrations simply ignored &/or blindly support drug abuse/addiction for personal “cause”. Hence, the growth of crimes in the nation especially in the neglected communities propagated like mushrooms.

Herein are some more aging chaos that needs to be reviewed and strictly enforced:
1. Basic human needs that are igrnored, rejected or invalidated by some in government roles/positions
2. Abuse of power, and
3. Conviction rates by those in government roles/positions are weak with “most” offenders going free.

We have witty government leaders, personnel & enforcers; yet, nobody ever raise an act to completely imprison “corrupt” offenders in the government service.

History gives us a record of perspective and consequences that can hep us make wise choices for candidates with integrity. Please, for the sake of good governance and the Filipino citizenry, don’t trade your votes.

I hope the vote to your “choiced” candidates, if ever they will win, will bring joy that will last until their tenures end in Y2022 & Y2025.
